After having reported 54 additional deaths in French hospitals the day before, the Directorate General of Health announces on Tuesday that 53 new deaths have been counted in hospitals. A total of 29,296 deaths have been reported in the country since March 1, including 18,912 in hospitals and 10,384 in social and medico-social establishments such as nursing homes.

The figures for the latter had not been updated since last Tuesday. In one week, 34 additional deaths were recorded.

This day is also symbolic for resuscitation services, where the number of people hospitalized fell below 1,000 - 955 exactly - for the first time since March. The patient balance is once again negative, with 69 fewer patients compared to Monday, despite the admission of 15 new patients in the past 24 hours.
