For his arrival at X Factor 2020 he says: «I have always loved challenges because they push me to bring out the best in me or at least I hope so! We are experiencing a "strange" period and inevitably this edition of X Factor will also be "different" from the previous ones. I hope that music and entertainment will be of great help to send a positive message of rebirth and restart, especially for all the boys and girls who get involved for their great dream »
Absolute TV debut for HELL RATON , aka Manuel Zappadu, record reference point for the Italian rap scene thanks to Machete - a famous crew he founded together with Salmo and Slait in 2010 - and to the years spent behind the scenes of the Machete Empire Records label, founded in 2013, of which is CEO and creative director. He is also the promoter of various charity projects: an example is Machete Aid on Twitch, a marathon in support of workers in the music sector affected during the Covid-19 health emergency. «I was a boy hungry for music - he says -, who managed to achieve his greatest dream thanks to passion, dedication and tenacity. All the time spent in the rehearsal room in front of the mic and live on the stages, the most disparate, in Italy, has certainly enriched my way of experiencing music. Over the years I have learned to get involved, from 2010 with the foundation of Machete up to Machete Gaming, passing through the debut of the Machete Empire Records label and the birth of Me Next and 333 Mob. In my work the roles of record company, talent scout, artistic and creative director, but also musician live together. Faced with a talent I try to examine it in all its aspects and its abilities, with a 2.0 approach, to find, together, the most suitable path for his career. That's what I'd like to do here. ''
MANUEL AGNELLI returns to the jury table that has seen him protagonist from 2016 to 2018. The leader of the Afterhours returns thanks to his experience and his unique and innovative musical vision. A one-year break that saw him engaged first in the concert at the Forum in Assago, sold out, which celebrated the band's thirty years of career and from which the documentary "Noi Siamo Afterhours" was taken, previewed at Rome Film Festival, then in the tour "An Evening with Manuel Agnelli" with Rodrigo D'Erasmo, from which a special edition vinyl was made. Manuel Agnelli was the voice of Caravaggio in "Caravaggio the soul and the blood", the art film that won the Golden Globe. For two seasons he has been at the helm of "Ossigeno" the Rai3 program in which words and music are a continuous flow. In 2019 he won with 'Argentovivo', a song interpreted together with Daniele Silvestri and Rancore, the critics' prize Mia Martini, that of the Lucio Dalla press room and the one for best text. The Targa Tenco also wins. «I really like - he says - the project that is being built around this new X Factor. It is very stimulating to return with the awareness that sowing is necessary and produces effects. I have again and I believe as never before, the opportunity to bring the voice of a way of making music and why making music, far from the logic of numbers and results at all costs. Music as language, as an expression of the self, as a human and inner journey, as a stance, as an act of life. Much, much more powerful than being successful. Bringing this vision to the general public, on television and in a context like this, remains an important purpose for me ».
Returning home also for MIKA, also active for him 3 editions of X Factor, from 2013 to 2015. Judge much loved and never forgotten by the public of the talent, last fall he returned to the music scene with "My Name Is Michael Holbrook ", an album fruit of a marked artistic maturation which was accomplished with the extraordinary one man show brought to twelve Italian arenas with 70 thousand tickets sold during the" Revelation Tour ". Tour that continued in Europe and Australia before being interrupted due to the pandemic on the road to Asia and the big American festivals that were scheduled: from Coachella (USA) to Lollapalooza, Argentina. His mini show during the Sanremo Festival, which reached the peak of the evening listening to 60% of the share, was his last appearance on Italian TV. «I return to X Factor - he says - with a strong motivation and a mission that convinced me to accept this challenge. My response to the social crisis that recent events have brought is to participate, to share and what I can do as an artist and entertainer is precisely to entertain, make people dream »
