Every second Tuesday of the month the time has come: Microsoft releases security updates for Windows & Co. What does the June Patchday bring?
Berlin (dpa / tmn) - Microsoft has released security updates for a total of far more than 100 vulnerabilities in Windows and other proprietary software products. The company classifies around a dozen security vulnerabilities as critical, which are particularly evident in various versions of Windows and in the Internet Explorer and Edge browsers.
In Windows 10, for example, attackers could exploit a serious vulnerability in the graphics programming interface to take control of the computer. The victim would only have to open a manipulated website or file.
Most Windows PCs install the updates automatically. The operating system can be updated manually using the Windows Update function in the Control Panel. It also shows whether the system is up to date.
The fastest way to reach the settings is to click the magnifying glass icon in the lower left corner of Windows 10 and then simply type "Windows Update" in the search field. Then just click on the search result "Windows Update Settings".
