Several police unions demonstrated Friday morning in Paris in cars, from the avenue des Champs-Elysées to the Ministry of the Interior. They ask to be received by the President of the Republic to express their dissatisfaction after the announcements of Christophe Castaner. Monday, the Minister of the Interior had indeed advocated zero tolerance against racism in the police and announced the ban on several arrest techniques.

“It's not just the Minister of the Interior. We came to tell President Macron that he must support, respect, consider his police. The police are not racist, the police are republican, they do not choose their delinquency, they do not choose the color of the delinquency and they save lives regardless of the color of the individual's skin, "said Fabien Vanhemelryck, general secretary of the Alliance union.

"I hope President Macron will hear us because it goes far beyond the Ministry of the Interior. It is up to the President of the Republic to take over this file, ”added Philippe Capon of Unsa, also denouncing the stigmatization of the police.

Christophe Castaner received part of the unions on Thursday and is yet to receive some on Friday to try to calm their anger. At the end of the day on Thursday, other angry police gatherings had already taken place in several cities in France, during which the participants each time symbolically threw their handcuffs to the ground.
