Viruses: 57 cases in China, a record since April. The second wave is feared

China today announced 57 new confirmed cases of Covid-19, the highest daily figure since April, which heightens fears of a second outbreak in the country from which the pandemic has started.

    The Chinese Ministry of Health said 36 are local infections registered in the capital Beijing , where the emergence of a new outbreak of contamination has led to emergency containment of several residential areas.

There have been 734 deaths from Covid-19 in the United States in the past 24 hours . This is what emerges from the data of Johns Hopkins University, according to which the total deaths are 115,347.

Latin America, 1,600,000 cases and 78,000 deaths  - On the day marked by the resignation of the Minister of Health of Chile, for a coronavirus pandemic that seems out of control in that country, Latin America has reached 1,600,720 infections in the last 24 hours (+44.551) and 77.960 deaths (+2.299). This is what emerges from a statistical processing carried out by ANSA on the basis of data from 34 Latin American countries and territories. Stable leader of this dramatic ranking is Brazil which, with 850,514 infections (+21,704) and 42,720 deaths (+892), is in second place in the world for infections and deaths, behind the United States. Peru (220,749 and 6,308) and Chile (167,335 and 3,101) follow. Six other countries in the region (Mexico, Ecuador, Colombia, Argentina, Dominican Republic and Panama) are above 20,000 infections.  

Record increase in cases in Pakistan, 6,825 in 24 hours  - Record increase in infections from Covid-19 in Pakistan, with 6,825 cases recorded in the last 24 hours. For the third consecutive day the number of new cases is over 6,000. The total thus rises to 139,230. The deceased increased by 81 units, bringing the total to 2,632. 51,735 have recovered since the start of the pandemic.
