Anna soon disappears without a trace and it is up to the twins to reveal the secrets of the community and the mysterious bell tower in the lake .

No Netflix invention: this is the real story behind the clock tower in "Curon"

The famous bell tower in the Reschensee belongs to the St. Catherine Church - the last vestige of the original villages of Reschen and Graun. Both were demolished in 1950 to create a reservoir that was to supply electricity to northern Italy via a hydroelectric power station. As a result, around 150 families were forced to move and rebuild their villages elsewhere. Only the bell tower from the 14th century was allowed to remain because it is a listed building.

Since then, some legends have grown up around the tower. For example, it is said that the bells start ringing under certain conditions - even though they were removed before the area was flooded. In the series, however, the ringing of the bells means terrible disaster for the listener . Most of these people are doomed to die.

"Curon": Is there a second season of the Netflix series?

The end of season 1 of "Curon" definitely offers the possibility of a sequel. But there are no official plans yet. However, the Italian magazine Tvserial.it writes that the first number of viewers is optimistic and that the series is well received by the subscribers. In Germany, the mystery show landed in the top 10 of the Netflix charts * at least within a few days.

If there is a second season, however, it is very likely that viewers will have to wait longer than usual. Normally, new episodes of a series appear annually, but production could also be delayed here due to the corona pandemic.
