The Bosch Cookit is designed to poach Thermomix customers. You cannot save with the device, but it should be superior to TM6 and Co. in many areas. Right?

  • The Thermomix is the top dog among kitchen machines.
  • The device is considered the crowning glory, but it also has many critics.
  • With the Cookit, Bosch is now somewhat late in introducing a new alternative.

The Thermomix is one of the bestsellers from Vorwerk and has enjoyed real cult status since its introduction in 1961. But there are also as many critics as fans who not only complain about the high price of around 1,379 euros, but also how it works.

For everyone who sees no problem in the price at least, Bosch now has an alternative device. The Cookit is available for sale from June 16, 2020 and is said to be superior to the Thermomix in some areas. So the device can be operated by voice control - practical if you have dirty fingers * when cooking - but that's not all.

Thermomix alternative Bosch Cookit

A frequent criticism of the Thermomix is that the mixing bowl is too small. With a capacity of three liters, Bosch puts 0.8 liters on the Cookit. With 24 automatic programs, step-by-step instructions and a manual mode , the device helps amateur chefs in all situations in the kitchen. The Cookit also has a function that Thermomix customers had to wait a long time for: ingredients can be fried at up to 200 degrees . The lowest cooking temperature is 37 degrees and so the device is also suitable for the preparation of baby food.

Bosch has been using Smart Home for a long time and the Cookit has also been integrated into the system. It is connected to the Internet via WiFi so that you can download new recipes. The control works either directly via the device, via an app or via voice control . The Amazon voice assistant is used for this.

However, this Thermomix alternative is not very cheap. Bosch wants € 1,299 for the Cookit including accessories.

Kenwood Cooking Chef Gourmet

In addition to the Cookit from Bosch, the Kennwood Cooking Chef Gourmet also plays  in the same price league  with 1,000 euros , but is seen by many hobby chefs as a superior Thermomix competitor. The device is built with a 1,500-watt motor and a 1,100-watt induction hob that reaches  temperatures of 20 to 180 degrees Celsius  - so it can also be seared with this device. With 24 automatic programs and 25 optional accessories, the Cooking Chef Gourmet can be used in many areas of the kitchen. However, only nine accessories are included as standard, including a balloon whisk, a dough hook, two stirring elements and a mixing bowl with a capacity of 6.7 liters, but with a maximum cooking capacity of 3 liters. When it comes to dough, the device creates 4.5 kg.

Thermomix alternative from Lidl: Monsieur Cuisine Connect

The discounter Lidl is also sending a device into the race for the Thermomix crown. The Monsieur Cuisine Connect from Silvercrest only costs around 300 euros and offers this comparatively low purchase price in addition to the conventional functions such as stirring, mixing and steaming, as well as an LCD for recipe instructions , an integrated scale and ten speed levels. The device can reach temperatures of 37 to 130 degrees Celsius, it mixes with 800 watts and boils with 1,000 watts . You get a 5-liter mixing container (the Thermomix only makes 2.2 liters) and various accessories, such as a steamer. Shortcoming: Lidl does not have the device permanently in the program, so you have to pay attention to actions.

Thermomix alternative Krups Prep & Cook

The numerous different functions make the Thermomix so appealing for many amateur chefs. With the Prep & Cook multifunction kitchen machine, Krups has also developed a device with many options. For about 400 euros , less than half the Thermomix price, the Prep & Cook can knead, mix, chop, grind, stir, crush ice, steam, braise and more. The manufacturer advertises with 14 different functions , six automatic programs, twelve speed levels, an engine output of 1,550 watts and a maximum temperature of 130 degrees Celsius . A scale is not integrated and for the popular app control of the Thermomix you have to put extra money on the table with the Prep & Cook - it is not included in the basic version. Various knives and stirring attachments are included.

Thermomix alternative Klarstein GrandPrix

The GrandPrix multifunction kitchen machine from Klarstein is even cheaper, but still has the most important functions and even an integrated scale. Although the built-in motor mixes with 500 watts and cooking with 1,000 Wat t , but for conventional tasks involved in the kitchen so every day, this is sufficient as a rule. The GrandPrix works with temperatures from 30 to 120 ° C and you can also get common accessories such as a steaming attachment, spatula and the like. The device costs about 250 euros .

Jupiter MyCook

The MyCook All-in-One kitchen machine from Jupiter is not quite as cheap as the two previous devices, but far from being as expensive as the Thermomix. The 1,600 watt output consists of 1,000 watts for the induction heating element and 600 watts for the motor . Disadvantage: The MyCook only manages the temperature range from 40 to 120 degrees Celsius. This is already too warm for some dishes such as baby food and it is also difficult to sear, because this would require 150 to 200 degrees. The MyCook has the usual functions , but not automatic programs . Beginners do not have it as easy as with other machines. There are high-quality accessories for this and you can transfer Thermomix recipes from the Internet to the device. The Jupiter MyCook costs around 750 euros .
