The Formula 1 2020 season of the Scuderia Ferrari has restarted. And to make this moment unforgettable, which comes after the dramatic months of the pandemic, was the roar of the SF1000 led by Charles Leclerc.
Three and a half months after the last day of testing on the Barcelona track, exactly 110 days ago, at dawn the men of the Scuderia restarted the engine of the SF1000 which moved from the Officina Classiche, in the heart of the historic factory in Maranello, where once the racing department also had its headquarters. The Monegasque driver therefore exited the same gate that Enzo Ferrari crossed on 12 March 1947 with the first car that bore his name: the 125 S.
"I'm not someone who likes to get out of bed at dawn but this morning there was a good reason to do it. Maybe we woke someone up - said Leclerc - but it was great to drive the SF1000 on the roads of Maranello. It was a great emotion to be able to get back in the car today and above all to do it on such a particular track. Coming back into the cockpit made me feel like being at home again. It seemed like a nice and fun way to say that we are ready to get back on track.
Now I don't see looking forward to driving the SF1000 in Austria "
