Weekly report of the period from 8 to 14 June of the Monitoring of Phase 2: 'Caution as in some parts of the country the circulation of the virus is still relevant'. Overall, the general picture of transmission and impact in Italy remains low critical. Slight increase in cases' (ANSA)

"In some regional realities, a high number of new cases of contagion from Sars-Cov2 continues to be reported. This must call for caution as it indicates that in some parts of the country the circulation of the virus is still relevant", reads the report weekly for the period from 8 to 14 June of Phase 2 Monitoring.

"Across the Peninsula - the document continues - new cases of infection were diagnosed in the current monitoring week, with cases increasing compared to the previous monitoring week in several Regions and autonomous provinces. Rt is less than 1 at national level and almost in all autonomous regions and provinces.

"Overall, the general picture of the transmission and impact of Sars-CoV-2 infection in Italy remains low critical with a cumulative incidence in the last 14 days (period 8 / 6-14 / 6) of 6.03 per 100,000 inhabitants. However, at a national level, there is a slight increase in the number of new cases diagnosed compared to the previous monitoring week ", reads the Report which reports both the surveillance flow coordinated by the Ministry of Health and that of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità . "This - reads the Report - describes an epidemiologically fluid situation which requires rigorous compliance with the measures necessary to reduce the risk of transmission such as individual hygiene and physical distancing".

According to the Phase 2 Monitoring Report, "the lockdown measures in Italy have effectively allowed a control of Sars-CoV-2 infection on the national territory, even in a context of persistent widespread transmission of the virus, with a very different incidence in the 21 Regions and autonomous provinces ". The situation according to the data of the document, relating mainly to the second phase of transition, "is overall positive, but with some warning signs relating to the transmission". And it is therefore indicated to "keep the resilience of the territorial services high to continue promoting awareness and compliance of the population, to carry out active research and diagnostic assessment of potential cases, the isolation of confirmed cases, the quarantine of their close contacts" . "These actions are fundamental - concludes the Report - to control the transmission and possibly quickly identify and face epidemic outbreaks".
