2020-06-19T23:08:43.030Z

Environmental activists launched a punching action to denounce "lobbies" which, according to them, prevent the application of the measures e

Fake blood and fake bank notes thrown on the facade of the employers' organization. An ironic "Bercy a lot" and a banner to the "glory of the Medef". Disguised as businessmen, a small group of Extinction Rebellion activists this morning denounced the financial discourse of the big bosses.

It is the first action in a long series for the citizen movement. These environmental activists are starting today a new campaign of civil disobedience under the name of #DangerPublic. Their first target: the Medef and the large industrial lobbies, accused of exerting pressure on the government to soften the environmental rules.

"They are taking advantage of the health crisis and the fear it generates" accuses "Crocodile", an activist from the start.

Denounce "highly polluting lobbies"

"We denounce the current influence that the highly polluting lobbies have, be it the agribusiness lobbies, the Medef, the plastics industry which, while the Covid was not finished, started to send letters to request the suspension of environmental standards that are now necessary for our survival, "said one of the activists.

On April 3, the president of the Medef had indeed asked Elisabeth Borne for a moratorium on the implementation of a certain number of ecological measures, notably concerning the fight against waste and recycling. A request rejected by the Minister of the Ecological Transition.

Activists are demanding the establishment in law of the “crime of ecocide” in order to prohibit practices endangering the living and ecological sustainability.
