(ANSA) - MILAN, JUNE 22 - The private equity fund AdventInternational comes forward to take over a share of Serie A, the top league league of the Italian football championship, which is already evaluating the offers of Cvc and Bain Capital.
According to Bloomberg's indiscretions, Advent would have made an offer that would evaluate the Serie A and its rich broadcasting rights around 13 billion euros. Advent's move comes a few weeks after Bain's 3 billion offer for a share of about 25% and that of CVC, which is up to 20% for 2 billion.
According to the Annual Review of Football Finance 2020 published by Delelitte, Serie A is the fourth-richest football league in Europe, behind England, Spain and Germany, which can generate about 2.5 billion euros in revenues in the 2018-2019 season, on a European 'cake' of 28.9 billion. At least 60% of this revenue derives from the broadcasting rights, with Bain and CVC involved in a minority share of the vehicle that owns the tv rights. (HANDLE).
