Built in just over two years, despite the pandemic, with a self-financed investment of 25 million, today the new structure of Irccs Sacro Cuore Don Calabria Hospital in Negrar is inaugurated, green and eco-friendly, with more services for citizens and new digital healthcare. Pre-admissions will be done by swiping the health card, and soon an app will allow access to hospital services. The new structure, with two arms of a covered tunnel, joins the "Don Calabria" and "Sacro Cuore" poles, facilitating, thanks to a new entrance, access to hospital services that the Agenas (National Agency for regional health services) has certified among the most virtuous for the humanization of care. In addition to the Spallanzani Institute for Infectious and Tropical Diseases, recognized in 2018 by the Ministry of Health, the only hospital and scientific institute has also obtained the title of "Children's Friend" Hospital. User satisfaction is recorded by an analysis that can be consulted online and there is a percentage of deaths lower than the national one for some diseases. The percentage of deaths at 30 days from exacerbation of BPCO is more than four times lower than the average (2.81% against the Italian figure of 9.8%), for ischemic stroke it is almost four times less (3.91 compared to 11.34 ). More than halved the percentages for one-month mortality from heart failure (4.18% versus 10.98%), and after surgery for lung cancer (0.75% versus 1.12). 30-day mortality for acute myocardial infarction is 6.96% (8.29% nationwide). "Our patient and research activity has always had the patient's sole purpose - explains Mario Piccinini, CEO of the IRCCS of Negrar - with his need for health and spiritual and moral comfort. The creation of the new entrance structure responds to the same aspiration: to place the patient at the center of a work that is apparently only masonry, but in reality it is the plastic representation of our idea of ​​hospitality ". In the eco-sustainable building, there are totems that allow you to independently accept, book or cancel a reservation and pay for the service.
