Christophe's son judges the auction of the singer's property to be a “money pump”

Romain Vidal, born in 1967 from the relationship of Michèle Torr and the singer, rebels against the sale organized by Véronique Bevilacqua, the widow of the interpreter of Aline.

A few days after the announcement of the dispersal of Christophe's memories at auction, a discordant voice is heard. Romain Vidal, the son of the singer who died on April 16 and Michèle Torr, reacted strongly on social networks. "Maybe as it says on the article they don't have enough space, but I think it's an excusite (Commercial expression), maybe his memory also represents a money pump", posted the outraged man on his facebook account.

Received in the program Le Grand Atelier de France Inter on June 21, Véronique Bevilacqua, Christophe's former partner, had announced that she wanted to organize the dispersion of certain of the singer's goods. A vast collection composed of jukeboxes, pinball machines, musical instruments, radio sets and a collection of records accumulated over the years in his Parisian apartment on boulevard Montparnasse.

"We were both collectors of different things, even if all the American objects connected us both, Me, I have my personal collection of jukeboxes, of stations, I am armored at home so unfortunately I cannot keep nothing. My daughter is the same. So we're going to make an auction, "said the one who shared the singer's life for almost thirty years. Separated since the 2000s, Véronique Bevilacqua and Christophe, however, never divorced.

Before his meeting with Véronique in 1968, Christophe had a brief adventure with Michèle Torr from whom was born Romain Vidal, whom the singer never recognized. Educated by Jean Vidal, husband of the singer for twenty years, he had recently renewed contact with his biological father. Christophe had mentioned this abandonment during an interview with Brain Magazine in November 2012.

Never recognized

“I went to see Michèle at the hospital, I wanted to. I let my instinct, my emotional talk. And this guy ( his producer, editor's note) said to me: "You have to go recognize him" . In fact, if it had not been for the assault of this guy, I would have analyzed it differently, in a completely personal way and perhaps the child would bear my name… ”, had confessed the composer.

Romain Vidal, 53, with multiple sclerosis, paid a final tribute to his biological father, via a video posted on YouTube in April. “I wanted to thank everyone for your support which helped me a lot. I am obviously sad. I would have liked to know him a lot more, even if we saw each other, it was our secret to both of us, ” he said.

Before adding: " I think we haven't had enough time to get to know each other, I wish we had known each other more. I wish I had some answers and so did he. (...) He was a great artist and I miss him a lot. I love you very much Christophe, I miss you and I would have liked to tell you many things that I did not have time to tell you. "
