Thelma Fardin, who in recent years has become relevant in Argentina for her feminist struggle and for denouncing the actor Juan Darthés for rape, was hired by the municipality of Ushuaia to carry out talks against sexual abuse suffered by women , deepened in the context of the pandemic. But her hiring generated a stir on social networks due to false information about the amount she would charge and from the city they had to clarify it.

According to the contract that she signed for six months, the actress must be the "link with the Ministry of Women, Genders and Diversities of the Nation, provide advice and awareness talks, trainings, courses and workshops, among other things."

"The objective of said contract is to be able to make visible, with a clear voice and identified with the women of our city, the fight against sexual harassment of which many people are victims," ​​said the secretary of Women of the Municipality of Ushuaia, Noelia Trentino Martire , in dialogue with Ushuaia News .

And he added: "We have to be very firm in the fight against these abuses, because we cannot be complicit, or remain silent in the face of sexual abuse . This is one of the pillars of the work of this Secretariat for Women."

The controversy did not take long to appear and the hiring made a lot of noise on social networks, especially when the amount that Fardin would charge for that work began to circulate erroneously. Since then, the topic has become a trend on Twitter and the ball has not stopped growing. Given this, the municipality came out to clarify the situation.

"One feels that in these malicious publications, there is a political operation that seeks to discredit the work carried out by the Secretariat for Women, and to stigmatize a woman who suffered from sexual abuse .
