(ANSA) - ISLAMABAD, JUL 01 - The European Union Agency for Aviation Safety (Aesa) has suspended the authorization to fly to and from the EU Member States from Pakistan Airline (Pia) for six months from today, first July: Pia herself made it known.
The decision came after a recent statement by the Pakistani aviation minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan, who revealed doubts about the credentials of 262 Pakistani pilots. The suspicion is that they exercised without having completed the necessary preparation thanks to false documents. Pakistan Airline stressed in a statement that it is uncontacted with the Aesa "to dispel its concerns and hope that the suspension will soon be lifted".
All passengers who have booked trips in the European countries with the company - specified Pia - will be able to postpone the travel date or request a full refund.
