(ANSA) - ROME, JUNE 30 - "Close theGlass Loop" was launched today, a program that "brings together" the entire European glass packaging ecosystem to promote "bottle-to-bottle" recycling and bring the differentiated collection of the glass to be recycled 90% by 2030, across Europe.
The initiative, which brings together twelve European federations that represent glass producers, processors, brands, organizations for the recovery of packaging and municipalities, sees the accession by Italy of Assovetro and CoReVe and the involvement of all national partners in each EU Member State.
This initiative, promoted by the European Federation of Glass Containers (FEVE), was welcomed by the European Commissioner Virginijus Sinkevičius. In addition to FEVE, the European founding partners are the European Federation of Glass Recyclers (FERVER), the European Committee of Wine Companies (CEEV), the European Federation of Bottled Water (EFBW), spirits EUROPE, soft drinks Europe (UNESDA). , Alliance for Extended Producer Responsibility (EXPRA), PROsPA, represented by CITEO, ACR +, Eurocities, Municipal Waste Europe and the European Fruit Juice Association (AIJN).
At the online launch event, over 200 attendees joined the founding members and national representatives of eleven countries - France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain, the United Kingdom, Austria, Belgium, Sweden and Ireland - to officially launch the platform and subscribe to European action plans.
