A new assessment of mortality linked to Covid-19 and hospitalizations, still declining. This Friday, the Directorate General of Health (DGS) recorded 18 new deaths related to the coronavirus in the last 24 hours. In total, France has counted 29,893 victims since the start of the epidemic on March 1.
Among these victims, 19,396 people died in hospitals. These figures do not take into account the latest deaths in nursing homes and medico-social centers, which will be updated on July 8, June. On Tuesday, in its weekly report, the DGS listed 10,497 deaths linked to the coronavirus in these social and medico-social establishments.
560 resuscitation patients
On the hospitalization front, 7,990 people are currently being treated in French establishments. In the past 24 hours, 125 new patients have been admitted. Among the hospitalized patients, 560 present a serious form of the disease which requires care in the intensive care units.
12 new serious cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours. The balance, which takes into account discharges, remains negative over the same period of time, with 13 fewer patients. Since the start of the epidemic, 104,904 people have been hospitalized, including 18,415 in intensive care, 77,060 people have returned home.
"The virus continues to circulate throughout the territory, as shown by the number of new clusters", also explains the DGS, which counts "310 cases grouped since May 9, including 5 new, but 187 closed".
