"We have to leave home. It is the only way to overcome fear": Massimo Ranieri is ready for a new tour after the forced break while in the autumn a television challenge awaits him, surprisingly on Rai3, and the publication of a new album.

The lockdown for the Covid-19 pandemic was a moment of isolation and reflection but now the 'singer' is preparing to return to his audience "with uncontrollable enthusiasm" despite "the stress and human fear that we carry within ".
Not surprisingly, the show, a renewed version of its highly applauded show, is titled ' Dream and I am awake ... Today is another day' , making its way to Gone with the Wind but with particular attention not to tomorrow but to the present .

Ranieri will be back on stage for the first time on July 25 in Montalto di Castro in the Arena Teatro Lea Padovani. He will review his orchestra (Flavio Mazzocchi on the piano, Andrea Pistilli on the guitar, Pierpaolo Ranieri on the bass, Marco Rovinelli on the drums and Donato Sensini on the winds) three hours before the concert to do the sound check together on his repertoire of stainless and proven successes. "I will face the stage - he tells ANSA - excited and tense as on the day of my debut" .

The tour calendar, organized by Marco De Antoniis, is rich and the pace of the journey intense. After Montalto di Castro, several stages are already confirmed: 31 July at the castle of Udine, 7 August Cosenza Arena Piazzo XV March, 8 and 9 August Reggio Calabria Catona Theater, 10 August Catania Villa Bellini, 11 August Ragusa Arena Piazza Libertà, 13 August Marsala Arena Empire Theater, August 18 Castenuovo Garfagnana Monte Alfonso Fortress, August 19 Castiglioncello Pasquini Castle, August 20 Viareggio Villa Bertelli, August 21 Gavorrano Rock Museum, August 22 Tagliacozzo Cloister San Francesco and September 5 Cervia Piazza Garibaldi.

"Between heat and travel there will be a lot of stress - adds Ranieri - but it is part of our job. The greatest joy will finally be not having to make video messages and singing 'Anema e core' from home but being able to look into the eyes with a smile. with the elbow it is not the best of joy but at least we will virtually embrace each other ". The new government provisions have allowed the resumption of concerts favoring outdoor locations. "With due precautions and the public at a distance, we managed to recover the dates already closed for some time. Where, as in Reggio Calabria, we had 'sold out', we will divide the public and double the concerts to satisfy all those who already had purchased a ticket. "

Anxiety related to the circulation of the virus is there. "Having no more than 30 years - he confesses - I have a bit of concern but I trust others. When I take a walk in the evening to try to keep fit, I see that people wear a mask. It seems to me that there is a good adherence to respect for the rules, we are now "educated" in this sense ". Inevitable a nod to the celebrations for the victory of the Italian Cup of Naples. Contrary to the prejudice against his fellow citizens, Ranieri is convinced that "in any city the same thing would have happened, without considering what we saw in Liverpool where they had two days of celebration". Fortunately, the uncontainable Neapolitan exultation seems to have had no serious consequences. "A doctor friend of mine from Naples briefs me every day and, thank God, after two weeks, there were no infections".

The new album is expected to be released in the autumn , anticipated by the unreleased 'My reason' presented on the Ariston stage at the Sanremo Festival, with arrangements by Gino Vannelli . Ranieri will also be the protagonist on the third Rai network. "With Gualtiero Peirce we are imagining a project with the aim of bringing my audience from Rai1 to Rai3. It will not be a variety with sequins - he concludes - but a more confidential musical transmission, suitable for this historical moment".
