Monday migrants Ocean Viking on quarantine ship

A rotation of migrants on board the Moby Zazà, the quarantine ship that is stationed in the harbor in Porto Empedocle (Agrigento). The castaways of Ocean Viking will board the boat on Monday, which in turn will first land the other 211 castaways it hosted for the isolation period, 30 of which had tested positive at Covid. After the alarms launched for days and the state of emergency declared by the commander of the humanitarian ship of the NGO Sos Mediterraneé, who had saved the 180 people off Libya, the Interior Ministry ordered the operations for the removal of the swabs of the refugees. The situation is "carefully monitored - the ministry says - in view of the transhipment of migrants, scheduled for Monday 6 July". During the day an Italian medical team had boarded Ocean Viking for a first screening of the people rescued by Sos Mediterraneé. The NGO had reported six suicide attempts in the past 24 hours, migrants who threw themselves into the water and were rescued by the rescue personnel, threats to the crew and a severely deteriorated psychological situation.
