(ANSA) - TEL AVIV, JULY 05 - President Abu Mazen renewed the state of emergency for a third time for another 30 days in all the Territories in the face of new peaks of infections. "The competent authorities - it is written in the President's decree - must continue to take all the necessary measures to face the dangers deriving from the coronavirus, protect public health and achieve security and stability". A 5-day lockdown was declared in the Territories last Friday. Among the Palestinians in the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem, the number of positive cases rose to 4,250, double the rate of a week ago. The sick have doubled and are now 3,594. In the same period of time, the requirements have almost tripled, from 7 to 19. The absolute majority of these cases are in the West Bank, while in Gaza the situation remains under control. (HANDLE).
