It is an invisible control that is played out in Paris airports. As part of the Covid-19 pandemic, the ADP group installed thermal imaging cameras in the baggage claim rooms. Since June 2, the goal has been simple: to control the temperature of all travelers upon arrival, regardless of their origin.
Whether you come from Spain or Nice, your temperature is controlled on your way out of the airport at the baggage claim rooms, thanks to thermal cameras installed in the terminals of Roissy and Orly. "This measure is an initiative of the ADP group," says the company. It is not a state directive. "
Our airports are clean & safe places. A commitment that we make to our passengers, partners, employees. We have taken reinforced sanitary measures to ensure # safety & # hygiene. #Paris VousAime in #confiance. ➡️https: //t.co/iRuCShXSw3 pic.twitter.com/4lcn2Us7Kr

"If the temperature of a passenger is above 38 degrees, a double check is then put in place," explains the group. A second temperature reading by contactless thermometer is then carried out. When this is found to be above 38 degrees, the traveler can be invited by a doctor to perform a virological screening test (PCR) at his expense to remove any doubts.
The Emergency Medical Service (EMS) at Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle Airport is responsible for this implementation. "Partnerships with regional hospitals have been established," says ADP. For Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle, the protocol was established with the Robert-Ballanger intercommunal hospital center of Aulnay-sous-Bois-Villepinte.
If the PCR test is positive for the coronavirus, the traveler is then placed in the compulsory fortnight. This measure, taken by the Prime Minister at the end of June, forced the isolation of "anyone arriving on national territory with symptoms of Covid-19 infection during health checks".
Failures ?
The French authorities do not, however, oblige all travelers to confine themselves to fourteen days if they do not have symptoms when they arrive on the territory. But this attitude is encouraged. It is called "civility and sense of responsibility of travelers to implement this health precaution".
An appeal to the sense of responsibility which can raise questions regarding the evolution of the epidemic in certain European countries. No isolation is mandatory for travelers from Spain for example, while the country has recently extended local confinements. Galicia and Catalonia are affected after contamination rates have risen sharply in recent days, just two weeks after the containment was lifted.
