The Ministry of Health issued a directive tonight (Friday) stating that epidemiological investigations will now check verified patient contacts only four days back from the time the symptoms appear. Meaning of the guidelines - fewer people will require isolation.

The document also states that reducing contact testing will allow investigations to focus on high-risk contacts that are positive for the virus. Prof. Sigal Sadecki, the public health minister at the Ministry of Health, who announced this week's termination, also added that "the price is reasonable compared to the benefit."

According to the new guidelines, for patients whose date of onset of symptoms is known, all those exposed to it in the King of the Four Days must be located before their appearance and until the investigation. For a patient who does not remember or date the symptoms are unknown - anyone who came into contact with them during the 10 days after receiving the positive result will be identified.
