" No one should doubt that this is a historic moment for our health system ," said Jean Castex after a ceremony to sign the agreements with the unions that validated the memoranda of understanding, organized in Matignon. " I have no trouble saying that in this sense, beyond the recognition of their action, it is a form of catching up with respect to years of delay or each and every one, and can -being myself has its share of responsibility ”, he insisted.

New announcements in the coming days

The “Ségur agreements” provide for an envelope of 7.5 billion for paramedical personnel (nurses, nursing assistants) and other non-medical personnel (technicians, administrative agents, etc.), with a key increase in salary of 183 euros. monthly net for employees. Concerning doctors, an envelope of 450 million euros has been put on the table, intended mainly to increase the compensation for " exclusive public service ", paid to practitioners who agree to work only in public hospitals.

These wage agreements, at the heart of discussions held since the end of May under the leadership of Nicole Notat, are only one component of the "Health Ségur", intended to improve the working conditions of caregivers and the care of patients. The other three components, which relate to investment and financing of hospitals, governance, and the territorial organization of the healthcare system, will be the subject of " very strong " announcements in the coming days, assured Olivier Véran .
