Viminale, 16 expires tender-quarantine ship

(ANSA) - ROME, JULY 14 - A new notice has been published for the presentation of expressions of interest for the rental of ships to be used as temporary structures for the assistance and health surveillance of migrants rescued in the sea or who have come to the national territory following sbarchiautonomi. The Interior Ministry announced this by informing that "this urgent procedure, which involves the submission of tenders within midnight on 16 July 2020, was necessary after the previous tender had gone deserted".
    The ministry assures that there is "the utmost attention for the protection of the health security of citizens in particular in regions, such as Sicily and Calabria, which in this moment are more exposed to the autonomous landings of migrants". The surveillance of local reception structures has also been strengthened, "providing, where necessary, the transfer of quarantined migrants to hospital hospitals in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense".
