The Würth Italia company in Egna (Bolzano) launches the first fully automated sales point in Italy, an innovation designed to meet the safety needs of customers and staff during the pandemic and extend the purchase service for technicians and businesses. The shop, called "Würth automatic store", was presented in the morning at the "Würth store", in Egna. The operation provides different ways of purchase, with order via online shop, via smartphone application, or direct order on the digital store, via a touch screen and immediate payment by card.
The 1st store - the size of a container - will be located in Verona in September, in the Zai district. "Over the past few years, the company has invested heavily in innovation in order to integrate digital technologies as much as possible with ordinary activities, in order to respond as much as possible to the needs of our customers, protagonists and otherwise", he said the CEO of Würth Italia, Nicola Piazza. Egna's automated shop is the first in a series of 200 stores that will be distributed, by 2025, throughout Italy. "The innovation will be launched experimentally in our country. If it is successful it will be extended all over the world", concluded Piazza.
The group, which specializes in assembly and fastening products, has been growing for several years and has a turnover of 14.5 billion euros per year. In Italy alone, the turnover amounts to 600 million euros. 40% of sales are made through commercial technicians, 30% in physical stores and the remainder through "online" platforms.
