Coronavirus: USA, cases exceed 4.2 million

The toll of coronavirus cases in the United States has exceeded 4.2 million : this is what emerges from the counts of Johns Hopkins University, according to which the number of daily infections has slowed in the last 24 hours.
    The data of the American university to date indicate a total of 4,234,140 cases, of which 55,187 yesterday compared to over 60,000 in the last few days. There were 518 new deaths, for a total of 146,935 since the start of the pandemic.
In Brazil, the death toll has exceeded the 2.4 million threshold , while the death toll is now over 87 thousand: the Ministry of Health has announced it, according to CNN reports.
According to official data, 24,578 new infections and 555 additional deaths have been recorded in the country in the last 24 hours, for a total of 2,419,091 cases and 87,004 deaths since the start of the pandemic five months ago (on 26 February last).
India has recorded 49,931 coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours , which is the highest daily level since the start of the pandemic: the new record, according to the official accounts of the Ministry of Health reported by the CNN, was accompanied by further 708 deaths. The new data bring the total contagion balance to 1,435,453 and the death toll to 32,771. To date, there are 485,000 active cases and 917,568 people recovered. The country, as is known, has the third highest number of cases in the world after the USA and Brazil.
The toll of coronavirus cases in Mexico exceeded 390 thousand and that of deaths 43 thousand: this is what emerges from the accounts of Johns Hopkins University. The American university reports today that the number of infections in the country has risen to 390,516 and that of the dead to 43,680. According to a CNN count performed on the basis of official data from the Ministry of Health, in just seven days in Mexico, 15,273 new cases of coronavirus and 4,506 further deaths were detected.
The Australian state of Victoria, the most affected by the coronavirus, has recorded a record 537 new cases in the last 24 hours : this is the worst daily national budget since the start of the pandemic. State Prime Minister Daniel Andrews said it today, according to CNN reports. The new record was accompanied by six further deaths in the state, a figure that brings the local death toll to 77 and the national one to 161.
In the state of Victoria, therefore, the coronavirus continues to spread to sustained levels despite the metropolis Melbourne and neighboring Mitchell Shire have been in lockdown for three weeks. The closure will last at least another three weeks. Andrews explained that the number of new cases is fed mainly by infected people who go to work anyway.
