"A Night in Haifa", Amos Gitai's new film, will participate in the official competition of the upcoming Venice Film Festival, which will open on September 2, and compete for the Golden Lion Award. "Night in Haifa" is an Israeli-French co-production, a satirical comedy drama that takes place during one night at a club in Haifa, and follows a series of characters who spend time there.
The film stars Maria Zarik, Khula Ibrahim, Bahira Blasi, Naama Price, Clara Khoury, Tzachi Halevi, from Kerem G. Khuri, Hisham Suleiman, Tom Baum, Hannah Leslau, Amir Khoury, Andre Sabrin and more.
This is the seventh time that a Gitai film has competed at the festival. "I am excited to return to the Venice Film Festival, the first film celebration after such a long period of uncertainty," Gitai said. "I hope the film will enter the hearts of many."
Other films to take part in the official competition at the Venice Film Festival: "The World to Come", an intimate drama starring Casey Affleck; "Nomadland" starring Frances McDormand; And the Iranian film "The Sun" by director Majid Majidi.
