16 new deaths linked to Covid-19 have been recorded in hospital in the past 24 hours in France, according to the latest data communicated by the Directorate General of Health on Thursday.
She said the coronavirus has killed a total of 30,254 people in the country since March 1. Of these deaths, 19,739 occurred in hospitals. The death toll in social and medico-social establishments will not be updated until next Tuesday. The latest report, drawn up on July 28, reported 10,515 dead.
381 people in intensive care
The DGS also reveals that some 5,375 people are still hospitalized after being infected with SARS-CoV-2, against 5,551 on Wednesday. Among these patients, 381 of the most serious cases are in intensive care units. The balance remains negative in these services reserved for the most serious cases, with one more patient compared to Wednesday.
The DGS continues to express its concerns about the spread of the virus in the territory. “Individually and collectively, we must act now to curb this active viral spread,” she insisted in her press release.
