NETFLIX
"Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. the Reverend"
The excellent comedy "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt", which ended at the beginning of last year after four seasons, is making its comeback in an interactive episode. Initially scheduled for May 12 (date on which it was put online in English-speaking countries), its release in France has been postponed due to dubbing delays due to the coronavirus crisis.
As the platform had already done for a special installment of the series "Black Mirror", it gives the controls here to the viewer, who can choose the direction of the action at multiple points of the plot. The starting point: the heroine is about to get married, but confronts the Reverend who has held her for fifteen years and must thwart his Machiavellian plans. Note the presence of Daniel Radcliffe ("Harry Potter") in the skin of Kimmy's fiancé. Available August 5.

"The Rain" season 3
The third and final season of the Danish series "The Rain" will pit Rasmus and Simone, the hero brother and sister of this post-apocalyptic fiction. While the majority of humanity has been decimated by a virus present in the raindrops, Rasmus seems to be the cure, since he is a healthy carrier of the disease. But the reality is much more complex and the confrontation with his sister promises to be inevitable. Available August 6.

"3%" season 4
Continuation and end of this ambitious Brazilian series which imagines a future world in which only 3% of the underprivileged population, selected after a whole series of tests, can join Abondance, a place reserved for rich scholars. Rebellion, betrayals, violence and dreams of changing the course of history are on the program for this fourth and final season. Available August 14.

"The Great Heist (El Robo Del Siglo)"
This is the story of an unthinkable robbery: that of the central bank of Colombia. Do you think you are in a South American remake of "La Casa de Papel"? No, "The Big Heist" is based on real facts, a $ 33 million heist that took place in October 1994. It remains to be seen if this new series will be as successful as the Spanish fiction ... Available August 14.

"Dirty John" season 2
Even if it kept the title of season 1, the series "Dirty John" is devoted to a new true story, totally different from the first, in this season 2. It is a question here of plunging into the life of Betty Broderick. At the end of the 1980s, this mother of a family totally destroyed by her divorce committed a horrible crime. Amanda Peet embodies this obsessive woman, not supporting the betrayal of her husband, played by Christian Slater. The actress' performance is breathtaking and the pace of the series, which navigates between her trial and the events leading up to the drama, is perfectly controlled. Available August 14.

"It's Okay Not To Be Okay"
Romance from South Korea, "It's Okay Not To Be Okay" follows the meeting between Moon Gang-tae, who works in a psychiatric clinic, and Ko Moon-young, author of children's books who suffers from a disorder of the anti-social personality. The first does not believe in love, the second has never experienced feelings of love. However, the relationship that will develop between them may well surprise them. Available August 16.

"Lucifer" season 5 part 1
In the dying seconds of Season 4, Lucifer returned to his place on the Hell throne, after he and Detective Chloe Decker declared their love for each other. According to the first images unveiled of the new episodes, the latter saw the separation quite badly. When Lucifer finally reappears, his time in Hell seems to have changed him ... unless it really isn't him, but an impostor. This season 5 is cut into two parts of 8 episodes each and the first promises to be filled with action and, as always, relationship, love and family conflicts. Available August 21.

"Trinkets" season 2
This endearing series of American teenagers to young kleptomaniac heroines, whose soundtrack had enchanted us in season 1, returns for a second season which will also be the last. Enough to complete the story of Moe, Tabitha and Elodie, whose small delinquent activities could well cause big problems. Available August 25.

"Preacher" season 4
Here is an ultra-violent fantasy series in which we meet God, Satan, angels, vampires, Nazis, a priest possessed by a divine entity and a resurrected woman. All over the course of epic battles and battles to dominate the world. Resolutely explosive, "Preacher" does not bother with any limits and continues to make us hallucinate. This fourth season is the last, and can always count on its brilliant trio of actors formed by Dominic Cooper, Ruth Negga and Joseph Gilgun. Available August 5.

"Counterpart" season 2
In this spy and sci-fi series, Howard Silk is employed in a mysterious agency that hides the existence of a parallel dimension, almost identical to ours and in which duplicates of each of us live. Howard thus meets his "counterpart", a physical copy - but with a much stronger character than his - from this other world. They must foil a plot that could undermine the fragile peace between the two dimensions. In this season 2, Howard and his double find themselves stuck in each other's world. Available August 12.

No new series is planned this month on MyCanal. Indeed, only the multilingual versions of "Mrs America" (August 10), "Twilight Zone" season 2 (August 27) and "Devs" (August 27) will be uploaded. These fictions are already available, but only in the original version with subtitles.
OCS
"Lovecraft Country"
Produced by Jordan Peele and JJ Abrams, this horrific and historical series adapted from a book by Matt Ruff is one of the big pieces of the summer. The hero, Atticus Black and his friend, Letitia Dandridge, are two blacks in the segregationist America of the 1950s, who go in search of the father of the first. They will have to face as much the violence of racism as that of monsters that seem straight out of the imagination of the author HP Lovecraft. French director Yann Demange ("71", "Undercover - Une Histoire naturelle"), also producer, is in charge of the first episode. Available August 17th.

"Nashville" seasons 1 to 6
In Nashville (Tennessee, United States), capital of country music, singer Rayna James (played by Connie Britton of "Friday Night Lights") has been queen for a long time, but begins to have difficulty filling concert halls. Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere, from "Heroes") is the new starlet that teenage girls dream of being. Two careers, two temperaments, one passion… and an inevitable rivalry. Love stories, personal dramas, rising hopes, political scandal: everything takes place in a neat musical atmosphere, with a multitude of songs written especially for the series. Available August 20.

"Once Upon A Time" seasons 1 to 3
Victims of a curse, the heroes of the Enchanted Forest now live in a small American town, Storybrook, with no memory of their past. Snow White, Prince Charming, the Seven Dwarfs, Little Red Riding Hood and their sidekicks all have a new identity and a new life. Only Snow White's daughter Emma, who herself grew up in the modern world far from Storybrook, and is unaware of her origins, can end the spell. Over the course of seven seasons (only the first three arrive on the platform for the moment), the series "Once Upon A Time" has reinvented the fairy tales known to all with a beautiful originality. Available August 7.
