Explosion at the restaurant in Mogadishu, at least 2 dead

(ANSA) - MOGADISCIO, AUGUST 03 - At least two people died and others were injured in a suspected suicide attack outside a restaurant in the capital of Somalia, Mogadishu. Police and witnesses reported it. "The explosion occurred at the entrance to the restaurant, where a security guard stopped the suicide bomber before he blew himself up," said a police officer. "Two people, including the agent on guard at the restaurant, died in the explosion," he added. A witness said he saw two bodies and an injured person who was rushed to hospital. The restaurant, near the port of Mogadishu, is frequented by security officials and government employees who work in the area, often targeted by attacks by Islamist militants.
