Used to audience records in July thanks to the large loop, France 2 recorded a lower audience this year because of the postponement of the competition according to Médiamétrie figures published on Monday. France 2 recorded 13.8% audience share against 17.2% in July 2019. France 3, which also broadcasts the Tour d'ordinaire, is at 10% against 10.6% last year.

TF1 recorded 18.7% audience (+0.3 over one year). Several channels lost a few decimal places after a good month of June, like M6 (8%, -0.5), TMC (2.8%, +0.1) and France 4 (1.3%, - 0.3). After having recorded good scores during confinement, France 5 is back to its level of July 2019 (3.2%). C8, on the contrary, rose to 2.6% (+0.5) after several difficult months. Arte remains at its historic record level with 3% average audience (+0.4). This month of strong government news benefits 24-hour news channels: BFMTV climbs to 2.7% (+0.5), CNews to 1.2% (+0.6) like LCI (+0.4) and franceinfo at 0.7% (+0.2).
After record consumption during confinement, the French have returned to a more usual viewing time of TV programs for the summer period, with 3:21 hours per person on average in July (more precisely, over the period from June 29 to June 2 August). The TV listening time includes consumption on the TV screen and internet screens (computer, tablet, smartphone), live, delayed or catch-up. It is measured by the Médiamétrie institute on a representative panel of people residing in metropolitan France, made up of 11,506 individuals aged four and over living in 5,003 households, equipped with a device that records their choices.
