Ryan Hall is an American running legend. He holds the record for the half marathon to date, and was the first American to drop below 2:05 in the marathon. The docu-sports "Ryan Hall: The 41st Day" tells the story of his career from his childhood, when he still did not know about his talent in running, through the moment when he was in high school and decided to go around the lake next to his home in running - the moment that made him a baseball and basketball player. In the US.
Stories of an elite athlete at the level of Hall always fold within them successes and failures, hopes and dreams, and especially the long road to their fulfillment. Ryan got on the highway very quickly, was accepted to Stanford College and there ran in a professional team and stood out among the runners. "I was not used to training with people, and every training with the team was like a race for me. But people were angry with me because I was in good shape," he said of himself. From there he soared to the Beijing Olympics, where he finished the marathon in tenth place.
Hall was a devout Christian. Throughout the film he talks about his faith, his relationship with God and what he instructs him to do. It also led him to make a fateful decision that would affect his entire career - leave his coach and embrace God as a coach.

The docu has been following Hall's dreams since that decision, showing how this athlete's huge potential was wasted on self-training that led to injuries and eventually retirement.
The film mostly leaves a sour taste of missing out, and will still give you many moments of enjoyment of Hall’s great running style and the highs he has reached.
