Dantesque images of the flames at night in front of the center of Rosario were left behind, but the smoke is far from being removed from the city. Almost a week after the start of the operation due to the fires in the Paraná Delta , the fire gained ground in the south on Wednesday and the authorities decided to prioritize the protection of those who live and work on the islands.

In the last hours, the Ministry of Defense of the Nation confirmed the arrival of the patrol ship ARA King to support the hard work of the brigadistas on land in Entre Ríos . The ship departed from Zárate with the objective of providing food, sanitary supplies and accommodation, as well as boats for transfers of personnel from federal forces and from the province of Santa Fe.

From the National Fire Management Service they explained that the situation did not improve because they continue to find new outbreaks in places that until now had not been reached by the flames. The most affected region recently is the one that goes from Villa Gobernador Gálvez, on the southern limit of Rosario, to Villa Constitución and San Nicolás. The smoke this Wednesday reached the City of Buenos Aires.

The director of the organization, Alberto Seufferheld, affirmed that " the danger of the drought has increased ". As for the weather conditions in the midst of almost summer temperatures, he remarked that the forecast contemplates rainfall, but this "is running and is not in the amount necessary to quell the fires." However, the determining factor in the equation during the day was the strong wind from the north.

"We are waiting for a front that is about to enter. When that happens, it generates instability in the fires," said the official at noon in a report with Channel 3. Given this difficulty, they decided to focus on protecting the inhabitants and producers of the Delta. Naval Prefecture went out to tour the area to warn people in case evacuation is necessary . Regarding what may happen in the short term, the person in charge of the operation warned: "If we do not stop the advance today, the tactic will only be protection."

Beyond that the current environmental conditions facilitate the spread of fire, Seufferheld was convinced that new lands are affected due to the action of man. In this regard, he opined that "it may be negligence or intentionality ." Beyond the causes, the expectation focused on waiting for the outlook to improve to intervene directly on the fires. Thus, he estimated that they will need "a couple of days of tranquility" regarding the meteorological issue in order to control the situation in the region.
