To accompany the recovery of young people with problematic consumption, Sedronar launched a multi-stage monitoring program on Thursday that will include the assistance of a tutor and an economic incentive of 8,500 pesos per month . The idea is that those who are advanced in their treatment can access.

The program is called "Enhancing Accompaniment" and is carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Social Development of the Nation. The institutions in which the young people reside or where they do their treatment on an outpatient basis are in charge of nominating candidates. The intention is to add those who are in an advanced stage of therapy and hope to have the first participants in September.

The presentation was made this Thursday morning by the head of the Sedronar, Gabriela Torres, the head of the Cabinet, Santiago Cafiero, and the Minister of Social Development, Daniel Arroyo, in "Vientos de Libertad", a residential community house for people with problematic consumption in General Rodríguez.

In a first stage, which lasts for a year, the young person who participates in this program must carry out tasks that involve incorporating responsibilities. “They have to do with the daily work of the institution where they are being treated and with assisting colleagues. They may have to take care of cooking for the group, go to the bank to carry out a procedure, accompany another young doctor to the doctor, ”they explain to Clarín from Sedronar.

At this point in the program, they are also looking for people in recovery to try to regain family ties.

The objective in relation to the monthly payment - which is the first time that it is granted and depends on Social Development - is that they allocate it to the transfers planned for this instance and to the meals that they have to make outside the institution.

Young people in recovery will have the supervision of a tutor who, beyond accompanying them, must confirm that they are complying with their treatment and with the rest of the program requirements. There will be a quarterly homework certification.

In a second phase, through the Empower Work program, which is part of Social Development, young people can join other projects related to training for work or finishing their studies (primary or secondary). This will be evaluated in each case.

Consulted by Clarín , Carlos Damin, doctor of Medicine and chief of Toxicology at the Fernández Hospital, assures that one of the debts in relation to addictions has to do with the reintegration of the recovered person . In this sense, he believes that this is good news.

“One of the serious problems we are facing today has to do with the departure of young people from therapeutic communities. Without a bra, the person is more likely to relapse. Therefore, it is important that it has a containment network to adapt to the outside, "Damin explains.

And he adds: “The use of money may involve a risk, but at some point that danger will still exist. Therefore, it is much better that they agree to the use of silver within the framework of a program and with the supervision of specialists. ”

He says that the focus should be on when the person with problematic consumption begins to be held accountable. It is not a matter of time but of evolution in treatment . It is a decision that professionals must make. We must target patients who are about to leave and not newcomers, "he warns.
