What's new on streaming platforms? Here are five series or films to discover this weekend.

Beyoncé at the top in "Black Is King"

DISNEY +.This 85-minute UFO to the glory of Beyoncé (who is a director, co-screenwriter, producer, sorry) is nothing like the "Lion King" fable, despite its title. Even if from time to time, the spectator discovers nods to the famous cartoon of the firm, which has become a film entirely produced in digital, last year. No, this presentation of his album "The Lion King: The Gift" is, in the words of the star, a "love letter to Africa". The project, particularly sharp in its imagery, turns out to be above all political, although the main interested party denies any opportunism, given the post George Floyd context and the Black Lives Matter movement. Beyond the aestheticism of "Black Is King", conceived as a giant music video, is a hymn to the styles of Beyoncé which will delight fans of the singer. A real fashion show, sometimes haute couture, which highlights the vitality of African designers.

EDITOR'S RATING: 4/5

“Black Is King” , an American musical film by Beyoncé, with herself… (1h25)

Right goal with "Anelka the misunderstood"

NETFLIX. “Everything I've done, don't do it! “From the first seconds, Nicolas Anelka, former striker of PSG, Arsenal and Real Madrid, in particular, as well as the Blues, unleashes his first salvo. Over the minutes of this documentary directed by Franck Nataf and which lasts the time of a match, Anelka slowly takes off her jersey to reveal her other side. We knew it without compromise, we also discover it on the verge of emotion when he admits his difficulty in saying "I love you" to his parents. Or when he talks about his moral injury to have missed the decisive penalty shootout in the 2008 Champions League final with Chelsea. But "Anelka, the misunderstood" is above all many revelations about her career: her "quenelle", interpreted as a support for the humorist-polemicist Dieudonné, the famous Knysna crisis, in 2010, or his coup de blood at half-time for France-Mexico which would lead him to exclusion. Even if we can regret that his second stint at PSG, between 2000 and 2002, is obscured, one thing is obvious after the viewing: now, we understand Anelka better.

EDITOR'S RATING: 4/5

“Anelka, the incomprehensible” , French documentary by Franck Nataf (1h34).

Completely paranoid with "Freaks"

MYCANAL. Chloe, 7, lives completely cut off from the world with her father, who prevents her from leaving the house where they live, and has caulked all the windows. But the little girl endures this reclusive daily life more and more badly, and one day manages to escape… Acclaimed in all the festivals where it has been screened, “Freaks” (nothing to do with the masterpiece of same name signed by Tod Browning in 1932) has remained shockingly new in theaters in France. Yet it is a little gem of paranoid science fiction which, with a simple decor and some parsimonious special effects, manages to hook the viewer from the first minutes. This in particular thanks to the performance of the young actress who plays Chloe, a certain Lexy Kolker, who bursts the screen at each of her appearances.

EDITOR'S RATING: 4/5

“Freaks” , American science fiction film by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, with Emile Hirsch, Lexy Kolker, Bruce Dern… (1h44)

Ultra-violent fantastic with "Preacher"

AMAZON PRIME VIDEO. Here is an ultra-violent fantasy series in which we meet God, Satan, angels, vampires, Nazis, a priest possessed by a divine entity and a resurrected woman. All over the course of epic battles and battles to dominate the world. Resolutely explosive, "Preacher" does not bother with any limits and continues to make us hallucinate. This fourth season is the last, and can always count on its brilliant trio of actors formed by Dominic Cooper, Ruth Negga and Joseph Gilgun.

EDITOR'S RATING: 4/5

“Preacher” , American fantasy series by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Sam Catlin, with Dominic Cooper, Ruth Negga, Joseph Gilgun…. Season 4, 10 x 45 minutes.

Enchantment reinvented with "Once upon a Time"

DISNEY + . Victims of a curse, the heroes of the Enchanted Forest now live in a small American town, Storybrook, with no memory of their past. Snow White, Prince Charming, the Seven Dwarfs, Little Red Riding Hood and their sidekicks all have a new identity and a new life. Only Snow White's daughter Emma, who herself grew up in the modern world far from Storybrook, and is unaware of her origins, can end the spell. Over the course of seven seasons (only the first three arrive on the platform for the moment), the series "Once Upon A Time" has reinvented the fairy tales known to all with a beautiful originality.

EDITOR'S RATING: 4/5

“Once upon a Time” , an American fantasy series by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, with Lana Parrilla, Robert Carlyle, Jennifer Morrison… Season 1 to 3, 68 x 43 minutes .
