I have decided to resign from the government," Damianos Kattar said in a statement, saying he had lost hope in a "sterile regime that has failed several opportunities". This morning the Lebanese Minister of Information, Manal Abdul Samad, announced the two resignations. This is the first resignation of an executive member of Prime Minister Hassan Diab following the blast on Tuesday, which left over 159 dead and 6,000 injured and a wave of popular protests.
