The eviction took place yesterday by the Guardia Civil and the police of the municipality of La Orotava, after they had intercepted the organization of the gathering on social networks in recent days : "a weekend camping to encourage the spread of Covid-19" , explained the councilor for safety of La Orotava, Narciso Perez, stressing that the rapid intervention of the agents prevented a more massive and therefore potentially more dangerous rally.
"Although Los Patos beach has been closed to the public for years due to the danger of landslides, the official said that" there are many reckless people who come down to this beach every weekend not only to swim but also to camp. " Furthermore, these gatherings "worry" even more "in the health emergency situation in which we find ourselves".
