      Astronomy and nature weekend in the Negev

      We will probably start in the best place in the country to watch the stars - Ramon Crater and the Negev - where a special event is held this weekend on Friday-Saturday dedicated entirely to the stars. The Negev Mountain School of the Society for the Protection of Nature is located 900 meters above sea level. Ramon Crater, hence the cool weather in summer. The Negev Field School probably offers the most affordable star package, which includes: tutorials, accommodation at the Negev Field School, dinner and breakfast.

      Throughout the year, the school offers amazing trips in the primeval landscapes of the desert. In the summer, too, it is worth bringing coats for cool evenings. The training population is one of the most diverse - children and youth of all ages, families, trips for the well-traveled and even youth from abroad.

      Over the coming weekend, the Negev Mountain Field School will combine the Perseids with a combination of astronomy and nature.       "Stardust" in Mitzpe Ramon

      About 15 business owners in Mitzpe Ramon also enlisted this year for a large tourist event "Stardust" which put the stars in the center and during the Corona period also the businesses in the area.       "Starry Nights" at Timna Park

      It is no secret that the lack of people, cars and settlements in the southern prairie, is also its advantage when it comes to watching the stars. Timna Park has been known for years as one of the best places with the colorful events it has in watching the meteor shower or the stars, and this year too we are planning a glittering event for you.

      Timna Park, the tourism department in the southern Arava and the guides of the "Big Bear" invite you to a magical night experience in the open space and a close encounter with the world of astronomy and space for four nights a week. The activity complexes include: Stellarium complex - screening of a fascinating journey to the planets, observation complex with professional telescopes accompanied by guides, missile launch complex - experiential workshop on missiles and rocket propulsion, star observation complex, "Wheel of Fortune" - imaging complex with planetary planets and planets of planets The Sun and Lecture Complex.

      The King Solomon Khan restaurant located on Lake Park will be open during all business hours.       "Nokdim with Stars" in the village of Nokdim

      The traditional festival of Kfar Hanokdim was launched this year as well, with a desert celebration into the night. In the program: a sunset show, a compound for watching the meteor shower, a country market with food stalls and local art, a night scorpion safari and more. You can also stay overnight in a variety of options - from tents to rooms.

      The festival will begin in the afternoon accompanied by music in the village square. At sunset there will be a musical opening show for the Shabbat that will open the festival. At dusk, the guests set out on a "Star Trek" - a workshop to get acquainted with the night sky in which they will observe the various celestial bodies. Afterwards, there will be a guided night tour to discover the magic of the desert where visitors will discover the “nightlife” of the desert where there is a desert landscape adorned with moonlight and local animals. At the same time, the telescope complex will open in the viewing area, where the guests of the village will be able to view the celestial bodies they learned about in the workshop. At the height of the night, near the village, visitors will find a dark and luxurious complex, where they can be covered in the desert velvet sky and watch the Perseids rain (the name of the meteor shower) that will wash over the desert sky.
