(ANSAmed) - SOFIA, AUGUST 11 - Bulgaria has registered 116 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours following 3,667 diagnostic tests: the overall toll of infections thus rises to 13,512. At the same time, a further 12 deaths were reported, a figure that brings the overall death toll in the country to 459.
The toll of cases of infection among medical and health personnel has risen to 755 people. There are currently 5,073 active cases in Bulgaria, while 854 patients are hospitalized in hospitals, 54 of whom are in intensive care.
Meanwhile, the Bulgarian National Statistical Institute (NSI) records drastic declines in the tourism sector. According to data published in Sofia, overnight stays in all accommodation facilities decreased in June by 87.7% compared to the same month last year. The greatest decrease (-91.7%) was recorded in 4 and 5-star accommodation facilities.
In Bulgaria there was also a decrease in the retail trade of food, beverages and tobacco products (-20.6%) and in the retail trade of non-food products, with the exception of fuels and lubricants (-13.1%). (ANSAmed).
