The company "Schäfers Backstuben" from Biedenkopf in Hesse received a lot of support from the Internet after a determined reaction to a racist letter. The trigger was a response to an advertising campaign that the company says it has been running several times a year in the region for a long time.
For the "summer campaign", flyers with discount coupons were recently distributed to households in the area. On the back, the bakery chain had a photo of an employee of Cambodian descent printed.
For one of the recipients from the area, this was apparently the cause of a racist reaction. "Sell your baked goods in China! What are the stupid advertising for?" Read the flyer that was returned without a sender, announced the company on Facebook and also made a clear message to the sender: "Be ashamed of yourself and think about your behavior!" In the event that he or she is still convinced of his or her actions, the bakery demanded: "Please do not buy your baked goods in our branches!"
The post published on Tuesday has now been shared and liked by hundreds of people.
According to the Post, "colleagues from around 30 nations" work in the company. One is proud of that. In the bakery there is "space for every nationality, for every origin! Whether as a customer or as an employee".
