About 70% of the smartphones marketed in the United States in the second quarter - all but those of Korea's Samsung and LG - were made in China. Canalys analysts point this out, highlighting Apple's strong growth in the three months under review.

"From April to June, 31.9 million smartphones were delivered in the US, 5% less than in the second quarter of 2019. Apple has recorded a growth of 10% reaching the delivery of 15 million iPhones, the highest figure ever recorded in these three months of the year. The Cupertino company has seen its market share reach 47.1%, to compared to 40.8% reported in the same period of 2019.
In second place in the ranking is Samsung with 7.4 million smartphones delivered (-1%), followed by Lg with 3.5 million (-19%). Off the podium were the Chinese Lenovo with 2.2 million units (+85) and Tcl with 1.3 million (-45%).
