Istat confirms deflation in Italy. In July, the consumer price index recorded -0.4% on an annual basis and -0.2% on a monthly basis. This is the third consecutive decline, following the -0.2% in June and May. Prices are also in negative territory in economic terms (-0.2%). The inflation acquired for 2020 is thus -0.1% for the general index and + 0.7% for the core component. The prices of the so-called shopping cart slow down in July, to + 1.2%.
