International Bat Day will take place on August 23, 2020, and this year the Dizengoff Center decided to focus on this animal, after being slandered for no injustice in spreading the corona.

So what's in the plan? Admit that you did not expect it - guided tours of the Bat Cave in the cellars of the place, where fruit bats have lived for decades, who reportedly did not find the way out of the chin and are stuck there to this day. And seriously, the bats in the basements live in harmony with the human environment and do not harm them, as part of the chin’s perception of sustainability. The tours will take place on Thursday, August 27, at 18:30 and 19:30 at a price of NIS 20 for a half-hour tour.

Also on the program: The lecture "Let's get to know the fruit bat colony in Dizengoff Center" will take place free of charge on the same day and at the same hours, where you will learn why bats are unlike any other animal and why they are wrongly accused of spreading the corona. The lecture will be delivered by Dr. Maya Weinberg, a trainer and bat researcher from Prof. Yuval's research group at the School of Zoology, Tel Aviv University. Participation is conditional on pre-registration.

• The  galleries are mobilized for the artists

From August 26 to September 9, the exhibition "Blind Date with a Bat", an exhibition of bat photographs by the portrait photographer and urban nature Yuval Barkai will be displayed on the gallery floor (minus 1). The exhibition will allow a rare glimpse into the secret and wonderful world of the fruit bats in Tel Aviv, and photographs for sale will be displayed. free admission.
