Against the background that coronaviruses spread primarily through the inhalation of contaminated air from patients, a disturbing scenario.
The health department of Springfield-Greene County, where the said hair salon is located, was alerted and expected a wave of infections on site. But that turned out to be a fallacy: none of the customers had contracted the two women with corona - and that has a simple reason.

In Springfield, Missouri, few coronavirus infections had been reported by mid-May, which is why the two hairdressers mistakenly classified their symptoms as signs of a common cold. A visit to the doctor clarified: the two hairdressers were infected with the corona virus and were immediately quarantined. Customers were also identified, quarantined and monitored. But none of the customers were infected - thanks to simple masks made of fabric.
