The International Cycling Union (UCI), with a press release published on the official online site, announces that it has opened an investigation into the dynamics of the accident that caused the fall of Maximilian Schachmann on Saturday, in the final stretch of 'Lombardia'.
The accident was caused by a private car, which stopped on the road in front of the German racer, at the end of the 231km race.
"The events of the Uci World Tour calendar - reads the note - are of the highest level and require completely closed roads at all times. The UCI will evaluate the possibility of proposing a complaint to the Regulations against the organizer of the Rcs Sport event" .
"The UCI - concludes the note - wishes a speedy recovery to Schachmann and Remco Evenepoel (Deceuninck-Quick-Step), injured in an accident".
