Britney Spears disagrees that her father remains under her guardianship control and wants someone else to be in charge.

Britney Spears is asking the court to make some changes to her guardianship in order to free herself from her father, Jamie Spears , who for more than a decade controls the singer's money and most of the decisions of the singer.

On July 15, Britney fans again promoted the Free Britney Spears movement   , on the internet, after the star's recent social media posts raised concerns from her followers.

In new court documents obtained by E! News , the singer's court appointed attorney revealed Britney's future wishes regarding her guardianship.

Instead of her father, Jamie Spears, acting as sole guardian, court documents suggest that Britney wants Jodi Montgomery to be the one permanently in command of her person.

Jodi is a member of Britney's team and is temporarily serving as the singer's tutor, after Jamie resigned in 2019 for "personal health reasons."

"Britney is strongly opposed to James returning as her guardian. Rather, she prefers that Ms. Montgomery continue in that role as she has for nearly a year," the court documents said according to the portal.

"Without in any way giving up her right to request termination of this guardianship in the future, Britney would like to see Ms. Montgomery's appointment as her titular holder made permanent."

When it comes to her estate, court documents state that Britney "strongly prefers that someone qualified to fill this role be appointed." Currently, Jamie is the sole guardian of her estate.

Britney's court-appointed attorney asks the judge to seek information from all parties and issue appropriate orders to facilitate the implementation of the 38-year-old interpreter's wishes.

In August 2020, Jamie opened up about her daughter's guardianship and the #FreeBritney movement in an interview with The Post .

The trend first emerged in 2019 after Spears was admitted to a mental health facility after refusing to take the prescription medications her doctor had given her and for driving to a fast food restaurant with her boyfriend.

Several of her followers spoke about Britney's guardianship with the hashtags #SaveBritney and #FreeBritney, which began to gain traction once again on social media. Many fans believe that Britney was sending them secret messages to rescue her and regain custody.

"All these conspiracy theorists don't know anything. The world has no idea," he told the publication. "It is up to the California court to decide what is best for my daughter. It is nobody else's business," said the artist's father.

Britney's brother Bryan Spears also spoke about Jamie's involvement in the singer's case.

In an interview with the " As Not Seen on TV" podcast , Bryan explained, "Overall, [Jamie] did the best he could given the situation he's in."

A court hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, August 19, according to the portal.
