Coronavirus: net increase in new infections, 7 deaths

In the last 24 hours, new infected and victims of Coronavirus have risen sharply. There are 642 new cases: 239 more than yesterday. Seven dead, compared to 4 the day before. Tampons are also growing: 71 thousand, almost 20 thousand more than yesterday. In Lombardy (+91) and Emilia Romagna (+76) the greatest increases in infected people. These are the figures from the Ministry of Health. Today's figure is the highest since last May 23, when 669 were recorded. The total cases thus rose to 255,278, the deaths to 35,412. The growth trend of infections was constant in August, except for a decline in some days which coincided with a drop in tampons. People hospitalized with symptoms for Covid continue to grow: they are 866, 23 more in the last 24 hours. Intensive care also increased (66, +8), while patients in home isolation increased by 240 units (now there are 14,428). The currently positive are 15,360 (+271). The discharged and the healed rose to 204,506 (+364). In Lombardy the largest number of patients in intensive care (14), in Lazio hospitalized with symptoms (229).
