In a telegram dated August 19 and addressed to all of his service directors, Frédéric Veaux, who is based on "the recommendations of the High Council of Public Health", announces that wearing a mask is becoming compulsory for all police officers.
It has therefore been since Wednesday, especially when they are in the exercise of "missions likely to put staff in physical contact with the public", in all closed workspaces, or in service vehicles when they are "occupied by more than one agent". These masks will be provided by the institution, which favors fabric masks “in collective workplaces”.
Social distancing to respect
In this note, the police director recommends that officials constantly maintain a distance of at least 1 m between them, "including to greet each other and to eat" and to favor conference-view meetings, when possible. . "Be sure to limit the number of meetings and gatherings and their participation to the strictly necessary staff, while respecting the distancing measures", also intends Frédéric Veaux.
On March 21, the wearing of a mask was authorized for the public security police in intervention, at the request of the unions. But, faced with low stocks, the boss of the police had tempered this use in another note, asking that "the use of these masks be strictly controlled, the available stocks being limited".
