Concerns, always, on the Covid-19 front. The situation continues to deteriorate, as the data released by the Directorate General of Health (DGS) show this Thursday evening. Over the past 24 hours, 4,771 additional cases of contamination with the new coronavirus have been counted, against 3,776 last Wednesday.
In 24 hours, 12 new deaths were also recorded. Since the start of the epidemic, 19,969 people have died in a hospital establishment and 10,511 (according to weekly figures released Tuesday) in social and medico-social establishments, such as nursing homes. In total, since March, France has deplored 30,480 deaths linked to the coronavirus.
380 patients in intensive care
The number of hospitalized patients is on the rise. According to the DGS, 4,748 people are currently hospitalized after being infected with SARS-CoV-2 and 149 new patients have been admitted within 24 hours.
Among the patients treated, 380 are in the intensive care units. 28 people have been admitted to these services dedicated to the most serious cases in the last 24 hours.
Since Wednesday, 35 new epidemic foci have also been identified, bringing their number to 1096 since May 9. 686 of them were however “closed”, specifies the DGS.
