Harry and Meghan - as it (supposedly) really was

Fairytale: Cinderella finds her prince, the two fall immortal in love, celebrate a dream wedding, serve the venerable queen, and save the world, and if they haven't died ... Everything could have been wonderful. Now the so promising couple, known to the world as Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have turned their backs on British royalty and live in a foreign country. How could that happen?

The author duo Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand has now published the book "Finding Freedom", in which not only this question should be clarified. Rather, Scobie and Durand want to show "the real Harry and Meghan". In an interview via Zoom, Scobie explains: "We saw firsthand how different and wrong the reports about the two of them often were, and correcting that was a motivation to write this book."

This proximity is said to be the unique selling point in a world full of books about the British royals. In 24 chapters, Scobie and Durand tell the story of a relationship ("When Harry met Meghan") and the disaster that unfolded ("Half in, Half Out"). The whole thing looks like an overly long, very flowery PR brochure, dictated in parts by Meghan (less often by Harry).
